Barbican Brass is a group of five exciting young musicians who all met whilst studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Four of the group were contemporaries in the European Union Youth Orchestra and all have now begun to build impressive reputations at the start of what looks set to be five very illustrious careers. After successfully recording a demo CD in 2008 the Group performed at numerous recitals around the UK in 2009 including Appleby Music Festival, Ackworth Concert Society and Music in Mayfair. Also in 2009, Barbican Brass performed for the Metropolitan Police at New Scotland Yard and were featured as cover artists in the October edition of Muso Magazine. Actively keen on promoting new works, Barbican Brass have recently commissioned a new work by Andrew Brinsford and an arrangement of Olympic Fanfare by Evan Jolly. In March 2010, the Group have been invited to perform at the Winter Chamber Music Festival in Roros, Norway.
